Details
The Trent & Mersey is a highly coloured
canal which can offer good sport throughout the year. Primarily targeted
by match & Pleasure anglers, it can also produce decent mid double carp.
Fishing rights on 15 miles of the T&M canal are
jointly held by Northwich
AA and Warrington
Anglers. For the purpose of the agreement with British Waterways,
the Association is known as the Trent & Mersey Canal Association.
The extent of the fishery is from Middlewich Town Centre (footbridge
168), north through Broken Cross, Lostock Gralam, Wincham, Marbury Anderton,
Barnton, Dutton to Preston Brook Tunnel (214).
Matches
can also be booked for the canal.
Specific Rules
-
No Fishing is allowed between Bridge 201 on the A533 Runcorn Road,
Barnton and the Barnton Tunnel entrance.

Carp or Tench MUST NOT be held in keepnets.

Night Fishing to those members in possession of a Night Fishing Permit is
permitted in certain locations (Please see the Night Fishing Permit)

There is no close season on the Trent and Mersey Canal.

Both Northwich & Warrington Bailiffs have equal jurisdiction on this water.
