Details

Budworth Mere is a large mere of some 80 acres. Access to the lake is a bit of a trek on both sides

Despite its large size the Mere only has a average depth of 5 feet. On the southern bank the mere gradually shelves for about 25 yards before reaching 5 foot deep and on the northern bank about 50 yards.

Given the right weather conditions nets in excess of 40lb are common. With the 100lb barrier a distinct possibility due to the large shoals of substantial Bream. A few carp also reside in here.
