Big Billinge is very popular with Carp Anglers although it is by no means a Carp-only venue, with everything in there, good pike very noteworthy. Big is well established as a night venue and there is plenty of space for setting up a bivvy (Please note night fishing only on designated pegs)

Most of the pegs are in the form of stages although the road end is bank fishing. At the car park side of the lake is a large stage, which has been designed to enable those with difficulty in getting about to fish more easily; it would be appreciated if this peg be given up to those who need it most.

Specific Rules

• Due to pressure from Angling this water will be closed from 15th March to 15th June. This will be reviewed annually by the Management Committee.

• Floating Baits are not permitted.

• Night Fishing is permitted and is governed by the following rules

  1. Night Fishing will not be allowed from the pegs backing onto the roadside.

  2. Night Fishing will only be allowed from those stages indicated as “Night Fishing Stages” (Pleasure Fishing will be permitted from those stages at all other times).

  3. Only ONE Angler fishing with a maximum of 2 Rods is permitted on any Night Fishing Stage when Night Fishing
